Barking mad

Hey guys, do any of your dogs have a barking problem?
Max sure does and I'm coming up short of ideas to dissuade him.
He barks at people walking down the street and 'strange noises' like keys.
I've been telling him no bark and hush, and he'll eventually stop, but I'd rather he knew how to stop at a command.
Thoughts?
