It’s been two weeks now since Abby, pooch #3 came into our family, so we’ve weathered the worst of friends exclaiming, “You were scrambling with just two! Why a third dog?”
Dog pounds and shelters are filled with dogs bought on impulse; we’ve visited lots of them. Shelter organizations likely wouldn’t approve of our application for a third dog. Even (full disclosure here!) we bought Abby from a lady whose mixed breed dogs just bred and raised the pups in her backyard. No vet check, no first shots. Just the old “hand over the cash, and don’t come back” situation.
So I guess this isn’t an explanation or a confession. Certainly not a recommendation! More like a “just saying”.
