OurPets IQ Treat Ball™ food dispenser

This food dispenser is similar to the Contempo Tessa, except for the fact that it is shaped like a ball for easy rolling.

The IQ Treat Ball comes apart into 3 pieces, the bottom which you fill with food, the middle which has an adjustable opening and the top which has one hole on the top!

I would say that this treat ball is a bit easier than the earlier compared Contempo Tessa. 

The next level up for the treat ball is OurPets Smarter Toys Buster Cube, which is too difficult for my dogs.

Here's a new type of food dispenser! The Contempo Tessa is weighted on the bottom, like an old school bop-bag where you hit it and it comes back up.

That's what this dispenser does. It has two holes in the bottom which can open and close to change the difficulty.

We give Max his dinner in the Tessa sometimes and it has worked so far!

The Kong® Satellite food dispensing toy. I've read a couple reviews on this toy and it looked fun and challenging for Max so I thought I'd give it a try, plus it was 50% off!

We got the small/medium size which is about 9 inches across. Had the larger one been in stock I would have bought one for Abby when she grows up.

The Kong Satellite looks like, well, a satellite station (sort of) and is topped by a blue/clear tinted piece of plastic. Cleaning this toy looks difficult because I don't think that the two pieces can come apart.

There is a hole on the top of the Satellite and one on each arm, situated on the top, bottom or side.

Max has found two ways to get his food. Number one is to flip the toy upside down and then use his paw to move the arms in a circular motion (like if your arms were on a treadmill) and number two, to pick up an arm in his mouth and then drop the toy so food bounces out (he learned this with the Squirrel).

OurPets® Atomic Treat Ball™

I've been looking for this ball for quite a while. OurPets also makes the quite well known Buster Cube which is a more difficult version of a treat ball. In fact, the Buster Cube, like it's name, is a cube.

However this on a scale of 1 - 3 difficulty is a 1.

The outside of this ball is made of hard blue plastic, and it is not even a ball, but an atom shaped piece of plastic hence the name 'atomic'. 

I tried this ball out on Max with less treats in it because I thought that the hole would make things too easy; it's about a loonie size. I was wrong. He was confused because it didn't roll properly- the pieces of plastic and the extra chambers make rolling more of a challenge. 

Max can pick the Atomic Treat Ball up with his big canine teeth and drop it on the ground. He tried licking the hole in hopes treats would fall out but no luck.

All in all, I'd say this was a good buy!

JW® Hol-ee® Treat Ball

I went out yesterday and stopped by Bosleys just to look around, when I saw the Hol-ee Treat Ball. I've seen reviews of this product on YouTube and so I decided to try it out on Max and Abby.

The outside of the ball is covered in blue rubber, to stop the plastic inside from touching hardwood or tile floors and making noise. It didn't work very well on our tile, so if you're looking for a no-noise ball, I do not suggest this.

Now, inside the ball are two chambers. One, a cylindrical tube for dropping food into and a second outside ball that rotates for the treats to fall out of.
The actual hole that the treats come out of is about the size of two dimes pressed side by side. I've covered one hole with tape to make it more difficult for Max.

Max liked it, just like he loves all food related items but he was slightly confused and would pick up the ball by a rubber hole and then drop it on the floor like he does the Busy Buddy Squirrel; hence the noise.

This toy was $17.99 at Bosleys.

Kong®

The most well-known dog product out there may be the Kong®.
A Kong is made up of three hollow balls smooshed together with a hole on the bottom to put food into.

From left to right is the small puppy kong, large extreme kong and large senior kong.

Busy Buddy® Squirrel Dude™

In my ongoing search for food dispensing dog toys, I came across the Busy Buddy Squirrel Dude at a store in WA and decided to try him out!

There is a hole in the bottom of Squirrel with four tabs you can cut to change how quickly food will come out.

Because Squirrel is shaped differently than a Kong, he rolls around differently.

Mr. Squirrel is also made of heavy rubber, much heavier than your normal Kong, so I would assume that he could stand up to the heavier chewers out there.

Max takes more time with the squirrel than he takes with his Kong which is great!

Treat Haul + Irresistiball

Ran out this afternoon to get some new treats to try out. Has anyone used any of these before?
I'll do another post about these three later-- I'm waiting to get the Animal Planet Soft and Chewy Salmon treats tomorrow! :D

 I also found a little Irresistiball dog food dispensing toy to try out on Abby.

She doesn't really understand that she has to work for food so she's always whining. Silly puppy!
